As Director of Multicultural Engagement at Mountain America Credit Union, Jennifer Tarazon is responsible for establishing relationships with underserved and underbanked demographics, with a specific emphasis on coordinating Spanish-language efforts within the credit union. This new role reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and reaching underserved and underbanked communities across its six-state footprint.
In 2021 Jennifer was appointed by Governor Cox to serve as a Commissioner for the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services. She also serves as Vice Chair of PBS Utah’s Advisory Board and is a board member of the Suazo Business Center.
She is a graduate of Smith College and J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

Nick is a self-motivated business professional with vast experience in CRE and C&I lending, portfolio management, and business development. During a total of 9 years in the military, he spent 18 months on a deployment to Iraq during which he acquired an incredibly strong sense of leadership and management. Jesús Ruiz nació en México y en 1994 su familia se mudó a Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jesús Ruiz was born in Mexico, and in 1994, his family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.
All education was done here in the state, from elementary up to the U of U. Married with three kids, one boy and two twin girls.
He always tries to help the community in any way he can by fighting hunger and being an official sponsor of the Granite School District.
He is a business owner. He started “Señor Pollo Mexican Grill” in February 2018, which currently has 8 locations open, with 2-4 more coming up in 2024 in Utah, focusing on franchise sales and nationwide expansion.
Cynthia Jensen Jijón es líder en la comunidad de mujeres en tecnología. Es la fundadora del capítulo Latinas in Tech en Utah. Cynthia Jensen Jijón is a leader in the community of women in technology. She is the founder of the Latinas in Tech chapter in Utah. She graduated with a bachelor’s in business from Brigham Young University. Cynthia loves spending time relentlessly focusing on the empowerment of Latino leaders in Utah. In her free time, Cynthia enjoys designing logos for small businesses, having outdoor adventures, planning events, and trying out new technology.
Juan was born in Cádiz, Spain.
He studied at the University of Cadiz, Business Sciences as well as postgraduate courses in Marketing, Sales Team Management, Sales Techniques, and Business Consulting.
During his working life, he worked as a Sales Director for different companies, including Media, such as Radio Stations, Television Channels, and Magazines.
Juan and his wife married in 1979, and they have three children and seven grandchildren. Their family grew with the vision of entrepreneurship and serving the people to grow and work for their dreams.
For over 20 years, he has run his own Business Consulting company in Spain and later in the USA.
Since 2018, he has worked with the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and for the last three years, he has been serving as its Executive Director.
He received the 2022 Special Congressional Recognition of the Congress of the United States.
His goal has been to help the Hispanic Community learn how to enhance the effect of Education and hard work in their lives, as well as never giving up and being willing to overcome as many obstacles as they come up.
He leads efforts to connect Hispanic Businesses, Non-Hispanic Businesses, and Institutions with each other and with the Hispanic Community in order to contribute to the growth of Utah.
During his life, he has struggled to put into practice the message of these two slogans that have always accompanied him:
“Whether you think you can do it or you think you can’t, you’re right.”
“If you are willing to learn, no one can help you, but if you are willing to learn, no one and nothing can stop you.”

Juan y su esposa se casaron en 1979 y tienen tres hijos y siete nietos. Su familia creció con la visión de emprender y servir a las personas para crecer y trabajar por sus sueños.
Desde hace más de 20 años dirige su propia empresa de Consultoría de Negocios en España y posteriormente en Estados Unidos.
Desde el 2018 ha trabajado con la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Utah y durante los últimos tres años se ha desempeñado como su Director Ejecutivo.
Recibió el Reconocimiento Especial 2022 del Congreso de los Estados Unidos.
Su objetivo ha sido ayudar a la comunidad hispana a aprender cómo potenciar el efecto de la educación y el trabajo duro en sus vidas, así como a nunca rendirse y estar dispuestos a superar tantos obstáculos como se presenten.
Lidera los esfuerzos para conectar empresas e instituciones hispanas, no hispanas entre sí y con la comunidad hispana para contribuir al crecimiento de Utah.
Durante su vida ha luchado por poner en práctica el mensaje de estos dos lemas que siempre le han acompañado:

Liliana is a professional who has been working as a System Engineer for 13 years. She is a creative, organized, and problem-solving-oriented person. Currently, she is in her last semester of the Associate program in Social Media Marketing at Ensign. During her time in the program, she worked on several projects to create content and manage social media marketing campaigns, showcasing her practical thinking and initiative.
Liliana has Peruvian roots, and she understands the significance of Hispanic businesses in society. That’s why she joined the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce team. Her personal goal is to contribute to businesses and people’s growth and have a positive impact on communities with her experience, enthusiasm, and passion for creation and learning.
Liliana es una profesional creativa, organizada y orientada a la resolución de problemas con 13 años de experiencia en planificación y formulación de estrategias como Ingeniera de Sistemas. Se encuentra cursando el último semestre de su Asociado en Social Media Marketing en Ensign donde participó en proyectos de creación de contenido y gestión de campañas de social media marketing, mostrando iniciativa y pensamiento práctico.
Con raíces peruanas, comprende el valor que las empresas hispanas pueden brindar a la sociedad, lo que la llevó a unirse al equipo de la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Utah.
Su objetivo personal es contribuir con su experiencia, pasión por la creación y entusiasmo por aprender a empresas y personas interesadas en crecer e impactar positivamente en nuestras comunidades.
Mabel, a native of San Jose, Costa Rica, holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica and has over two decades of experience in the Costa Rican diplomatic service. Her diplomatic roles have been diverse, including serving as Chargé affairs ad interim and Consul General at the Costa Rican Embassy in Honduras.
Within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she served as the Coordinator of Multilateral Affairs, Advisor to the Directorate of Protocol, President of the Costa Rican International Humanitarian Law Commission, and a Member of the Evaluation
Committee for the Diplomatic Service. She attained the rank of Ambassador in 2022.
From July 2017 to September 2022, Mabel served as the Consul General of Costa Rica in Los Angeles, California, with jurisdiction over 11 states, including Utah.
Following this, from April to November 2023, she served the State of Utah at the Department of Workforce Services as a FEP Counselor, providing support to single mothers through federal financial assistance, training, education, and employment.
Mabel is currently a professor of International Private Law at the University of Science and Arts of Costa Rica.
As of December 4th, 2023, Mabel has assumed the role of Membership Program Manager at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Utah, UHCC. In this capacity, she adeptly oversees the operational requirements of the membership program,
implementing effective outreach strategies to both expand and retain existing members. Her responsibilities also include the recruitment and support of new members upholding the UHCC’s values and standards.
Mabel, originaria de San José, Costa Rica, es graduada en Derecho de la Universidad de Costa Rica y cuenta con más de dos décadas de experiencia en el servicio diplomático costarricense. Ha tenido diferentes puestos diplomáticos, incluyendo su labor como Encargada de Negocios ad interim y Cónsul General en la Embajada de Costa Rica en Honduras.
Dentro del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, Mabel se desempeñó como Coordinadora de Asuntos Multilaterales, Asesora de la Dirección de Protocolo, Presidenta de la Comisión Costarricense de Derecho Internacional Humanitario y Miembro de la Comisión Calificadora del Servicio Exterior de la República. En el 2022 fue ascendida al rango de Embajadora en la carrera diplomática.
Desde julio de 2017 hasta septiembre de 2022, Mabel fungió como Cónsul General de Costa Rica en Los Ángeles, California, con jurisdicción en 11 estados, incluyendo Utah.
De abril a noviembre de 2023, Mabel laboró para el Departamento de Workforce Services del Estado de Utah como Consejera FEP, apoyando a las madres solteras a través de programas de ayuda financiera federal, capacitación, educación y empleo.
Actualmente es profesora de Derecho Internacional Privado en la Universidad de las Ciencias y el Arte de Costa Rica.
Desde el 4 de diciembre de 2023, Mabel asumió el cargo de Gerente del Programa de Membresías para la Cámara de Comercio Hispano de Utah (UHCC). En esta responsabilidad, supervisa los requisitos del programa de afiliación, implementando estrategias efectivas de divulgación para ampliar y mantener vigente la lista de miembros. Sus responsabilidades también incluyen la captación y apoyo para los nuevos miembros en seguimiento a los valores y principios de la UHCC.
Nelson resides in Sandy, Utah with his three children. He received undergraduate degrees in Architecture and Information Systems from BYU-Idaho and a Master of Business Administration from the David Eccles School of Business. He also holds certificates in Instructional Design from the University of Utah and in Human-Computer Interaction for User Experience Design from MIT.
Nelson has over 20 years of administrative experience in corporate global digital marketing and technology product management. During the course of his career, Nelson’s teams have won several industry awards for their efforts.
Nelson currently works at Leadership Circle as the Vice President of Product, where he oversees their global technology solutions. His volunteer experience comprises serving in various organizations and he is grateful to be able to now serve on the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Yesica es una residente de West Valley City. Nació en Guatemala y luego se crio en Salt Lake City. En 2015, se unió a Key como cajera principal y avanzó a un puesto gerencial.
Fuera del trabajo, Yesica sirve como miembro de la junta directiva de la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Utah, es Secretaria de ChamberWest y asistente de enseñanza (TA) en el Suazo Business Centro, donde ayuda a mujeres aspirantes a emprendedoras. En verano, puedes encontrar a Yesica con su esposo y su hija pequeña acampando y pescando en los lagos cercanos. Yesica is a resident of West Valley City. She was born in Guatemala and was then raised in Salt Lake City. In 2015, she joined Key as a lead cashier and advanced to a managerial position in 2021.
Outside of work, Yesica serves as a board member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Utah. She is the Secretary of ChamberWest and a Teaching Assistant (TA) at the Suazo Business Center, where she helps aspiring women entrepreneurs. During the summer, you can find Yesica camping and fishing in nearby lakes with her husband and young daughter. She is excited to continue serving and growing the community on the west side.
Randal is the Community Outreach Manager at University of Utah Health Plans. Before working at U of U Health Plans, Randal was the Multicultural Community Relations Specialist at SelectHealth. Previous to that, Randal spent eight years as the Director of Take Care Utah, a network of nonprofit organizations focused on connecting people to health insurance.
Randal received a BA in Political Science and a Master of Public Policy degree and now co-teaches Family Consumer Health at the University of Utah every Spring semester. He also studied Spanish at the University of Valencia, Spain. Randal also worked with the homeless and low-income populations. He worked one year at Fourth Street Clinic in client services and one year at Central City Community Health Center helping families apply for Medicaid and CHIP.
Randal es el Gerente de Involucramiento Comunitario en University of Utah Health Plans. Está capacitado en Seguridad Nacional y posee títulos de asociado en tecnología eléctrica y mecánica, así como en gestión de aeropuertos y puntos de entrada. Tiene una licencia de entrenador de Clase C que le ha permitido gestionar y entrenar con éxito a nivel semiprofesional.
Cree en apuntar constantemente a hacer de este un mundo mejor en todo lo que hacen, enfatizando la necesidad de formar parte de la movilización de soluciones y liderar con acciones en lugar de solo palabras.
Es el CEO de GCS-Global Creative Solutions y el COO co-propietario de J2P-Double Eagle, un grupo de Alta Tecnología y Seguridad Internacional propiedad de personas con discapacidad y dirigido por veteranos. Se siente privilegiado y honrado de tener la oportunidad de hacer una diferencia positiva para su comunidad y el mundo. Es una responsabilidad que toma muy en serio.
Mitchel grew up in New York but has lived throughout the world. He is proud to call Layton and Utah home since 1994. He has been volunteering in his communities since he can remember, but officially started by teaching water safety to disabled children while living in Germany.
He is a decorated Airforce veteran who served during the Desert Storm Era. He has completed the requirements for a B.S. in Business Administration with an Executive Certificate in Global Business Management. He is Homeland Security trained and holds associate degrees in electrical and mechanical technology, as well as airport and entry point management. He has a Class C Coaching License that has led him to successfully manage and coach at the Semi-Pro Level.
He believes in constantly aiming to make this a better world in everything they do, emphasizing the need to be part of mobilizing solutions and leading with actions instead of just words.
He is the CEO for GCS-Global Creative Solutions and the COO co-owner for J2P-Double Eagle, a disabled-owned and veteran-run High Technology and International Security Group. He feels privileged and honored to be allowed to make a positive difference for his community and the world. It is a responsibility he takes very seriously.
Sandra es la actual Directora Gerente de Utah 211 en United Way of Salt Lake. Se graduó de la Universidad de Utah con una licenciatura en Sociología y un certificado en Criminología. Nació en El Salvador y vino a los Estados Unidos con sus padres quienes buscaban brindar una vida y oportunidades mejores para su familia, cuando tenía cuatro años. Ella valora el impacto positivo que tener un negocio propio puede tener en una familia. Su madre tuvo su propio negocio varias veces a lo largo de su vida, lo que a menudo fue la razón por la que pudo proveer y cuidar de su familia. Ser dueño de un negocio propio puede ser un medio para la estabilidad financiera y llevar a la movilidad financiera y por lo tanto, está orgullosa y agradecida de poder servir en la mesa directiva de la cámara.
Carlos nació y creció en San Antonio de los Altos, Venezuela. A los 18 años, se mudó a los Estados Unidos porque creía que en los Estados Unidos sus sueños eran posibles si estaba dispuesto a trabajar duro para lograrlos. Sin embargo, esta decisión trajo consigo luchas, desafíos y logros que han ayudado a moldear al abogado que es hoy en día.
Carlos comenzó sus estudios en LDS Business College, donde obtuvo un título en Negocios y una certificación en Contabilidad. Continuó su educación en la Universidad de Utah, donde obtuvo su Licenciatura en Ciencias Políticas. Mientras estudiaba en la Universidad de Utah, también pudo hacer una pasantía para el IRC (International Rescue Committee). Y recibió el premio Pete Suazo del Hinckley Institute of Politics por su destacado trabajo como pasante. Carlos asistió a la Facultad de Derecho en Thomas M. Cooley en Michigan, donde se graduó Cum Laude. Y para completar su educación, pasó su último semestre trabajando para el honorable juez Thorne en la Corte de Apelaciones del Estado de Utah.
Carlos está autorizado para ejercer la abogacía en Utah y es miembro de la Asociación de Abogados de Inmigración de Estados Unidos (American Immigration Lawyers Association).

Sandra is the current Utah 211 Managing Director at United Way of Salt Lake, she graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Sociology and certificate in Criminology. She was born in El Salvador and came to the United States with her parents when she was four years old. They were seeking to provide a better life and opportunity for their family. She appreciates the positive impact that having your own business can do for a family. Her mother ran her own business several times throughout her life which often was the reason she was able provide and care for their family. Owning your own business can be a means to financial stability and lead to financial mobility and therefore she is proud and grateful to be able to serve in the UHCC board.
Carlos was born and raised in San Antonio de los Altos, Venezuela. At age 18 he moved to the United States because he believed that in the United States his dreams were possible if he was willing to work hard to achieve them. However, this decision brought struggles, challenges and achievements that have helped shape the attorney that he is today.
Carlos began his studies at the LDS Business College, where he earned a Degree in Business and Accounting Certificate. He continued his education at the University of Utah, earning his BA in Political Science. While studying at the University of Utah, he was also able to be an intern for the IRC (International Rescue Committee). And he was awarded the Pete Suazo Award from the Hinckley Institute of Politics, for his outstanding work as an intern. Carlos attended Law School at Thomas M. Cooley in Michigan, where he graduated Cum Laude. And to complete his education, he spent his last semester working for the Honorable Judge Thorne in the Court of Appeals of the State of Utah.
Carlos is licensed to practice law in Utah, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
